Give me a high
As I am typing this entry, I am sober knowing that I have downed half a bottle of Parri Estate, Semillon, 2004. Yes, it was definitely an eventful evening with TO and Ron. Dinner was at good ol' Balestier and drinks were at ONE Rochester. Wow! What an evening after a day at work. Work was crazy with suddenly so many people wantng a piece of me.
So much that I observed of a particular group of people beside us. Was glad that I was able to meet a special someone of a dear friend. Hmmmm...wat am I typing actually? I also do not know. Was thinking of LL throughout the evening. Will bring him to ONE. Okie...i think i am too high to post picures now. Will do that tomorrow.=)

A Bottle Tree and a guy name Adrian
What a difference a Sunday make. A shocking morning for me when I headed out to send my mum to run some errands. The car was vandalised! I could hardly believe the sight infront of me, the scratch must have been fresh with dust forming from the paintwork. The scratch was a long one starting from the bonnet to the boot. The car that was beside mine was also attacked with less visible scratch but equally long. I suppose coz his car was in black and that made the difference. Made a police report and hopefully they can up patrols around the vicinity. Bugger!
Brunch was with TO, a friend that I have not met since April. Took him to a chinese restaurant in Chinatown, Red Star. We spent the hour catching up on the happenings of our lives. It is always pleasent to catch up over Dim Sim even when we communicate regularly over MSN and the phone. So much has happened in his life and it made me smile to know that he is happier in his current state. And we can never seem to get enough talking about the media in SG and my previous job. Hahaha. Headed over to The Cathay to check out the mall with TO. Afterall, he has yet to see how it looks like after the Grand opening. He did a quick "face-lift" at browhaus and we ended up in the salon INSPIRATION. With chic and model style interor deco, it was rather up lifting for the mood. Yes, he decided to trim his hair at the salon with a 10% thrown in for a student. The stylist tried persuading me to give her cut a try, but I declined politely. I think I would not trust someone else as my stylist has been trying to let me spot a different look.
Silly and clumsy me made a boo boo with the Cash Card. I took out the cash card to have it topped-up but I think I dropped it while walking around the mall. Thanks to the security, they managed to settle the problem in the easiest way- Pay by cash.
===========================================================
Dinner was nice with my family. It is not always easy to gather all of us together for a good meal, considering that most of us are grown up and have our own life. It was a nice effort and my dad recommended this place at Sembawang- Bottle Tree Village. I had no idea that SG actually has a place that grows Australian breed of plants. And this was the very place that play house to a few bottle trees. They looked amazing with the backdrop of mood lighting and resort like building. Food was served just at beside the beach with lapping waves that is audible in a few metres away. The food served was also delicious. The whole time I was actually thinking of how I can get my way there. It is a long drive for SG standard and not easi to find as it goes into a forest like road. If I were to bring LL here, it would be perfect but I want to drink. LoLx. I dun drink and drive. And BTW, BYO is at only $5 a bottle. Cheapest I know in SG. I better start packing and get ready for another week of work. And next week is pay day! LoLx. Finally.

There was a particular weekend that I was speakng to EJ on msn, he was sharing some relationship ups and downs he is currently facing. And I wondered what all these was about considering that his r/s started not too long ago. And e pointed out something very valid and I started wondering to myself.
The ups and downs in a r/s is actually caused by "protective mechanism". Think of it this way, either party has ther own PM and it is up to the person to decide how high the index of PM it is. That would determine the level of friction in that r/s. That is how fights and quarrels happen in a r/s I suppose. I am starting to wonder wat is the current index of PM. I have to deactivate it at best to ensure that the next r/s that I goes into will be as perfect as possible. Talk about a perfect r/s, I dun think it can happen. We can all try to make it work at best.
Heading out to drive my mum around for some errands. And I still cannot get the sun to shine. It better shine 3 weeks from now, or I can be unforgiving. LoLx.

3-D life

Accepted the proposition of helping out in AW's latest show, Lei Yu. A chinese play that transcends all time. So what do I do in a play like as such? I poor tea!Hahaha...went for a quick crash course this morning at Mosque Street. During the hour, the guy thought me the dfferent types of tea as well as the basics of brewing a good pot of tea. It was definitely enriching and made me feel more cultured. Hahaha. At the end of the course, I was given a teapot with some tea leaves as well to practice at home before the actually performance next saturday. At the Victoria theatre, I will demonstrate the art of tea appreciation.
Tried getting a tann at the pool, but left just after 30 minutes when the sun just refused to shine on me. Bugger! Rather spend the afternoon taking my power naps. Hahaha.
Dinner was a late one with my long time buddies, LBY will be leaving for Tokyo for a 1 year work stint designing 3-D Animation, and he will be working on a favourite of many in the world. Pooh Bear! Hahaha. The fish steamboat was nice with dishes that accompanied it as less than satisfactory, pictures of celebs don the walls of the shop and that was kinda weird as it was distracting. And now? I am just lazing in bed chatting with some friends on MSN before I head to bed.....hitting the bed...not clubs. =)
Just wondering where LL should put up when he is in town

Goof Roof
Thank God it is Friday. Another work week passed me by in the blink of an eye. As I left the office after sending out my last e-mail, I realised that the life of a guy at work is just to look forward to a weekend of fun with his friends. TO is arriving at 9.45pm, wth appoinments all laid out nicely before him, and I wonder what I should be doing this weekend. Hmmm.....I left slightly later than usual today as I had a few e-mails that had to send out. Rushed home for dinner and sped off for auditions. A few nice girls came for the auditions and wonder if they are actually suited for the roles. Oh well, that is the duty of the director whle I goofed around with Edric on the camera. Did a nice gesture of sending the bois home as they were completely exhausted from their work.
As I was driving back on the expressway, I stumbled upon a track on one of my brother's CD and it was an ultra familar track. It reminded my days while I was in Perth and some memories started seeping into my mind. Wonder if it was pain or sweet memories, but it was gushing into me as I sank deeper into the track. Could remember how I started the semester in Perth and how I managed to meet people that I actually call my true friends now. Oh well. Perth was nice, but simply must move on. There is no more space and time for me to delve into when I have a future ahead of me. Actually have been looking forward for LL to visit in a few weeks.
All in a day's work.

True light
Decided to display pctures of how my office and the surrounding buldings look like. Having been with the company for 3 weeks, I feel that am actually happier in this new company. Sorry about the mess that you see. It is really not my fault as the office is already as messy as it is. Hopefully with moving to a new office, the clutter will be gobe and I can have more style whilst at work.

DIASPORA

Thanks to my sister, she managed to get me tickets to watch- Diaspora. This work by Ong Keng Sen has toured Berlin and is supposedley internationally acclaimed. Commissioned by Singapore 2006, the purpose is to showcase a side of Singapore as being creative and artistically inclined. Being the first time that I have actually stepped foot into the concert hall of The Esplanade, I was more excited over the venue that the performance will be held in. The view of the Concert hall is very different from that of the theatre in The Esplanade.
The concert hall was transformed into a stage with the Singapore Chinese Orchestra right in the middle of all the happenings. wondered why the Orchestra was hiding behind a semi-transparent screen and the answer unfolded when the show started. A mix of film, sound and drama, the show unfolded in many layers and surprise elements. The idea of Ong was the theme of immigrants and chinese. The chinese that left China and seeked a life away from their homeland, not just that, but also how connected the rest of the world can be with the chinese from China, including India and the Vietnam. There were a lot of emphasis on Vietnam chinese and it is extremely interesting. There were frequent mentions of Vietnamese actually survived in America and how the war had actually changed their lifestyle and perception. He even brought the audience into a journey into the different states of America to take a peak into how the Vietnamese actually infiltrated and made America their home and how they ahve embraced the culture. From Oregon to Simi Valley, they are relentless in their pursuit of happiness in the foreign land.
History also came across as the main theme, with pictures and video footage of the early immigrants. He managed to make the video gel seamlessly into the music of the SCO with precision to the music and video. One may leave the hall without understanding what the show was all about. But that is the whole idea, not knowing where you are and seeking an identity to call your own. It doesn't matter as long as you know that you share a history with something that you can call your own. A well put together show. Was thinking about LL and how he might be able to relate to the whole idea.

Saw a few friends from the theatre scene after the short 1.5hr performance. =)
Are u poor enough?

As IMF meeting comes to an end, I would like to share something with my readers. As my brother has been a "helper" with the IMF event, he actually told me something that made me realise the disparity in IMF and why there is a constant need for such meetings to happen.
A delegate actually approached my brother to ask for directions to his hotel. The delegate showed him the name card of the hotel. The delegate claimed that the hotel is in town. But when my brother actually read the address, it showed a "hotel" located in Geylang. Guess where the delegate came from? South Africa.
This showed the disparity and struggle that third world countries are going through, and you start wondering if IMF is doing enough to help such countries or is it all a show? The third world countries just wants a voice, a voice that can be heard by the people around the world and hopefully aid for to poverty happening in their countries. Money might not be able to solve everything, but it is a start, a start to end the problems in their country.

Attica
I have not made the announcement public, I should prepare a press release for this piece of news soon. However, I have been rather busy and do not feel the hype yet. But here goes, I have agreed to help EL in his upcoming production scheduled in February. I am again a SM. =) The play is for the Peranakan Association. The audtions started today and it was held at a vegetarian restaurant at Geylang Road, very convenient for me.
Spent the rest of the day visitng sales suite on Sentosa Island. Was doing research for my client and just have to be sure that I covered the different ways that people are designing visuals. It gave me a good impression of how I should convey the idea to my client and persuade them to accept the proposed idea.
Before IC left for London, it is very important that we catch up for a last drink. I can't help feeling sore that am not in London. I can even hear the clubs calling for me here in SG since I left London a few years back. Sigh. Say hi for me to the clubs when you are in London and yes, I will miss having your company.

Forbidden City

After watching 2 runs of the Forbidden City, I almost decided to give the third run amiss. Thanks to AW, I managed to get a pair of tckets at a discounted price and thought to myself, why not? Especially when they were stall seats that allowed a relatively good view of the show.
The director Steven Dexter(director of previous runs) seems to have ran put of ideas to make the show more spectacular. Why can't SRT just kept the third run as it was from the last run? Isn't that what broadway or the west-end is doing? Keeping their musicals orignal and consistent.
Many glitches set in with the sound, and it affected ACT 1. However, it also displayed the powerful vocals that God has kindly bestowed Kit Chan. She was amazing when the mic when off, her melodic voice filled the theatre as if the mics were on. The rest of the cast were not fantastic bit Hoassan managed to keep the audience entertained and gave comic relief to the show. Casting was also not perfect this time round with the old empress being too fat for comfort, though her singing was good. A friend actually commented that the really Empress Dowager is not that fat, and I actually laughed at him for being mean, but after watching it for myself, I have to agree.
Anyways, it was a good to watch the musical again since 3 years ago.

Fit for queens
After the months of being around in SG, IC finally will be departing to see the queen. I am really happy for him even when I know he will be missed. It is always good to be heading towards self-improvement and be motivated in something once again. Before he headed over to meet the queen, we had to first orientate him to the etiquette of the highness.
And so it was dinner at Romanee's kitchen with Wasabe Prawns, Marinated chicken, toufu and soup. These are the queen's favourite dishes, and so we had a queenly dinner just off lau pat sat.
A meal is never complete without Queenie tea and cakes. Muahaha....and so it was done in good ol' fashion style at the Esplande. The V cafe has got stately features and staff, nothing less for the princesses of course. The cakes were divine, fit for a diva. Arm-back chairs and petite tables with marble tops. Ah! How can a state room be anything less with knights in shining armour? They were just sittng behind us, as they should. LoLx. The truth is, everything was in an impeccable state with ambience and company being most delicious. A well satisfied friday evening. The evening ended with drinks at Mox, yes yes....IC just had to pay tribute one last time to the Queens in Singapore.
And guess who we met there?

Terror Fashion
Wow! while I was at the train station today, I was greeted with a pleasent "surprise". The LCD monitors of the station was actually showing a short clip on terrorism. The lead of the clip, a lady speaking into the intercom on the train. She described how this suspicious looking person looked like:-
- Man
- Wearing Black Top
- Black jeans
- Dark sunglasses
- Black duffel bag
- looking nervous
Please lah, is this the kind of stereotype we need in Singapore to counter terrorism? Haiyoh! A terrorist can donn Gucci sunglasses, Paul Smith black shirt with signature trimmings, dark coloured jeans from G-Star and an LV suitcase with the works. Right?!?!?! You mean terrorsists are not able to afford it? If I were a terrorist I would insist on dying in style.
We must all work together to stop terrorists from taking over the peace in our country, but at the same time, we must stay vigilant at all times and suspect even the fashion conscious.

One-North, as one.
It has been like the busiest week ever since a long time ago. With drink sessions almost every nght for the past week. I wonder how I kept myself sober at work and high on alcohol in the evenings. But above all the happenings during and after office hours, it remains superb to just chill out with my dear friends and do heaps of catching up with them.
Did a last minute decision to join my gang of friends for drinks at ONE Rochester. It seems that Jon and Sabbie had yet to visit the "IN" venue to chill out in. Just had to orientate them, just to make sure that they are able to engage in a decent conversation such the occasion arise. It turmed out that we were gulping cocktails and for me... white wine. They acually serve really good white house pours, with about 3 selections. I chose a "Pari...somethng" too high to have remembered. We talked about everything under the sun, from broken relationships to business acumens, a perfect night for the perfect company. (We have to do this again soon!)

IMF vs. Singaporeans
Just realised that as I was travelling on the train to work, IMF meetings are happening just above me.
The point is, singaporeans are actually in a country that the IMF is being held, but almost 98% of the population are not involved in it and do we even care? We lead our lives as any other day, going to work and doing things that are not in any way related to the IMF meetings. So? What is the big fuss over a meeting as such I wonder. Poverty has salvation and love life can take a turn for the better?

How Stoopid can you be?
I seldom copy and paste stuff here. But this is hilarious.
ONE Recently, when I went to McDonald's I saw on the menu that you could have an order of 6, 9 or 12 Chicken McNuggets. I asked for a half dozen nuggets. "We don't have half dozen nuggets," said the teenager at the counter. "You don't?" I replied. "We only have six, nine, or twelve," was the reply. "So I can't order a half dozen nuggets, but I can order six?" "That's right." So I shook my head and ordered six McNuggets
TWO I was checking out at the local Wal-Mart with just a few items and the lady behind me put her things on the belt close to mine. I picked up one of those "dividers" that they keep by the cash register and placed it between our things so they wouldn't get mixed. After the girl had scanned all of my items, she picked up the "divider", looking it all over for the bar code so she could scan it. Not finding the bar code she said to me, "Do you know how much this is?" I said to her "I've changed my mind, I don't think I'll buy that today." She said "OK," and I paid her for the things and left. She had no clue to what had just happened.
THREE A lady at work was seen putting a credit card into her floppy drive and pulling it out very quickly. When I inquired as to what she was doing, she said she was shopping on the Internet and they kept asking for a credit card number, so she was using the ATM "thingy."
FOUR I recently saw a distraught young lady weeping beside her car. "Do you need some help?" I asked. She replied, "I knew I should have replaced the battery to this remote door unlocker. Now I can't get into my car. Do you think they (pointing to a distant convenience store) would have a battery to fit this?" "Hmmm, I dunno. Do you have an alarm, too?" I asked. "No, just this remote thingy," she answered, handing it and the car keys to me. As I took the key and manually unlocked the door, I replied, "Why don't you drive over there and check about the batteries. It's a long walk."
FIVE Several years ago, we had an Intern who was none too swift. One day she was typing and turned to a secretary and said, "I'm almost out of typing paper. What do I do?" "Just use copier machine paper," the secretary told her. With that, the intern took her last remaining blank piece of paper, put it on the photocopier and proceeded to make five "blank" copies.
SIX A mother calls 911 very worried asking the dispatcher if she needs to take her kid to the emergency room, the kid was eating ants. The dispatcher tells her to give the kid some Benadryl and should be fine, the mother says, I just gave him some ant killer..... Dispatcher: Rush him in to emergency!
Life is tough...
it's tougher if you're stupid.

Flea Flee
Spent my Sunday afternoon at 2 flea markets, was really fantastic.

MAAD was known for the creative and innovative products. Was pleasently surprised that Singapore has really a group of drven individuals with a passion that exceeds profits.

Zouk was contrastingly dfferent with funk punks and alcohol going around. What do we need to solve the problem of hot and humid weather? A nice cold beer! I really liked the atmosphere at Zouk Flea Market and will definitely be back soon to support vintage and my wardrobe. =)

Fab Fri
Friday was simple and down to earth.
Finally a week has passed since I joined the company. No major dramas as yet, all good and peaceful. To celebrate my 1 week at work, I went to Magma a German restaurant just down the road from my office. Nice ambience with good service. Decided to feast myself on a delicous set lunch.

Evening was at the opening of The Cathay Gallery. A contrastingly different feel from the grand opening. The attendees for the opening consisted of family and friends of The Cathay. Many of them could relate to and even discuss the origins of the exhibits. For that matter, the crowd was also of a certain age that I could not relate to. Hahaha. Dun mind me, but I was so sure that I was the second youngest ofthe audience with IM being the youngest. LoLx. The fun bit was the bits of story from the owner of some of the exhibits. Muahaha....it was farnie....pure indulgence just to know where there "originated" from. Thanks IM for the invite, even though we were looking high and low for....ahem...alcohol. hahaha.
We adjorned to Q bar for drinks. But it all came crashng down when we were actually refused entry. Know why? Coz we were all underaged. OMG! So embarassing, not been turned down at a club in I dunno when! Haha....so we headed to Winebar, laggi worse, it started pouring cats and dogs. "Swaying" till the bottom of a friday evening. LoLx. But it all started to get better when we cosied ourselves at the bar. Drinks and chat just makes it so perfect for friends to catch up. =)

Dedicated to you
I have been rather down lately and it is due to a number of issues that I find hard to swallow in one gulp. A dear friend of mine dedicated the verse below in hope to make me feel better. Thank you IM, much appreciated.
==================================================
As we grow up, we learn that even the one person
that wasn't supposed to ever let you down probably will.
You will have your heart broken probably more than once
and it's harder every time.
You'll break hearts too,
so remember how it felt when yours was broken.
You'll fight with your best friend.
You'll blame a new love for things an old one did.
You'll cry because time is passing too fast,
and you'll eventually lose someone you love.
So take too many pictures,
laugh too much,
and love like you've never been hurt
because every sixty seconds you spend upset
is a minute of happiness you'll never get back

A weekend
The weekend seemed like a long one with me basically doing nothing colourful at all.
Friday
Was invited to Mervyn's Birthday party. The crowd was interesting enough to have kept me occupied throughout the hour. The turnout was incredible with the chalet filled to the brim with men. Had fun just sitting around and chatting with the host and friends.

Saturday
Breakfast was at The Botanical Gardens- Halia. The ambience of the restaurant was relax and casual. However, the food was less than satisfactory with poor service coming from the chef that was in-charged of preparing eggs. So much attitude when I actually requested for sunny side up eggs.

Dinner was with Tadashi at Outram food centre. I had wanted to bring him to food street to sample local fare. However, parking was such a bitch. The evening ended with drinks at Indo Chine- Opiume. The layout of the restaurant was amazing with tables illuminating a blue hue. Ordered a Jade Frost, tasted delicious. Thank goodness for valet parking or I really had no idea how do I park in a mass of cars.

Sunday
Stayed home and rot. =(

Dial LOVE
What is going on around my life, I do not know. I am just an average dude trying to figure out how things may work out for me when it comes to LOVE. I am really lost, I do not know if I am able to find someone that can truly connect with anymore. Maybe it would be better if I contained myself in a fantasy dream where I can choose whoever I want to love and will love me back. Imagining the guy to be anything want him to be and anything that will fuel my desires. Sad but true.
I am feeling tired by the day. Tired of what is going to happen to my lfe next, what is going to happen to me on my new job? Am I going to meet someone new tomorrow? Will I find the lost one? I do not know. Makes me frail by the day just thinking of it. Sometimes I get a thrill just looking at my list on MSN, staring at the blank screen until something interesting pops up. Plainly waiting. Waiting for what to happen, I do not know, and maybe not want to know. Just knowing that someone is there in a virtual world s good enough for me. Silence can be golden, and maybe that statement has a meaning to it. Golden is when the still water is not provoked. Who cares? No one cares. Coz no one might remotely understand what I am going through now. Maybe people are just busy trapped in their own problems and not having enough courage to even look at the problems that people around them are facing. Maybe, I am just frustrated. Frustrated of unrequited love.
Fuck! Just LOVE me!

U go Jay!
I must say that I have not been a totally dedicated fan of Jay Chou, coz I really dun fancy his R&B Style and it makes me wonder if he can actually sing any other songs besides the style of R&B. Until heard his latest song on the radio, then did I realise that his voice can be as clear as crystal. Oooohhhh....sooooo...sexy.....
