Hacienda. A gem that was stashed away from my very sight every visit to PS Cafe. Finally, a party to celebrate your beauty and worth. The opening party for the SG motorshow for Subaru is to be held here. And the invited guest was no one short of celebrity glamour. Kelly Roland rocks!
Think casual chic for dress code as the red carpet was decked out to the road where cars like mine was a shy cry from the company. Less the glitzy dresses but bring on the jeans, the group still looked emaculately posh. The only problem with the party was the lack of free flow of champers. All that was served for the night, watermelon martini. Even though the drink lacked punch, it was pleasently refreshing.
Arrived too early and I knowing how a diva should be was hoping that no one was gonna be late and the show should start on time. I was actually worried that I might have a lack of company for that evening. It is always nerve wrecking for me to attend a party without a proper date. Yes, I went alone. The people that I had in mind for a party like this are all way from my side (not for long) and some others that I so want to invite might have a clash of interest with the party hosts. I did not want to commit social suicide and definitely not cause unnecessary rivalry between my ex-boss and my friends. Bought some champers for myself and started to find myself mixing perfecly with the crowd. And not too long later, people that I knew started making their entrances. Phew! Friends from the media and clients started littering around me.
Was introduced to this girl that is currently a student from RMIT, Melbourne. When she was told of my profession she started judging my occupation. Hahaha. Turned out rather funny as she thinks that I am the cause of stereotyping, discrimination and influencing consumer minds. I was not defensive and knew exactly where my stand is. Infact, I agreed with her. Maybe not completely but I agreed with her.
Saw Jade, yes the model from, America's Next Top Model. She is so tall that it is not farnie! Chatted with her and asked her how she was doing in town. On screen, she is not my favourite. But off-screen she is divine! I guess that is TV, making you believe that it is actually a reality TV, but many do not understand that all has been taken out of context. Made her look like the least favourite and the worst of the lot. She mentioned that Tyra Banks is a wonderful Act-tress. You know what, I believed her. TV is all but a show for a myriad of people to manipulate the minds of ther audiences.
When Kelly Rowland came on stage, she worked the magic. Sprinkling star dust all over the audience and mesmerizing them with her dance moves and power singing. You rock girl! The 15 mins show was so short and we could not get enough of her. The night ended off with supper with my dear friends at Newton Food Centre, for a full hour of gossip session with the "press".
For now, I hope to spend some quiet time with myself and maybe a couple more fringe parties before the "gang" comes back to join me.
