Da Vinci Code was definately not a movie spun out of proportion. After hearing varied feedbacks from different people around me, I almost wanted to give the movie a miss. But I was glad I did not allow fluffy reviews to dissuade me.I for one had no first encounter of the book that swept millions of copy off the bookshelf. The only time I had a chance with the book was when I read the first few pages of it and put back where it was. To me, I did not like the beginning. Maybe, it was too dark a story for me.

Ron Howard did a good job with the direction of a story that disturbed the whole world. His take; simplicity and tastefully brought out plot. The book had all the details of the story, but the director had only 2 hours to tell the gripping tale that spans across Europe. To me, the movie was like any other fictional movie that I have watched. i.e Spiderman, Batman, Bewitch. There is definately no cause for worry towards the religious groups. The story is simply-You Believe What you Want to Believe.
Towards the end of the movie, a lady blurted out, "what a load of crap". I was offended, not because I believed the story. But simply cause she interrupted the show. They should just leave comments to themselves and discern from what is fictional and non-fictional.
On a ligter note, the backdrop for every scene in the movie scored an "A" plus with me. I love London and definately Paris. The buildings, the paintings brought me back to the time when I was admiring painting by painting and building by building whilst in Paris & London. Tasteful!
