Uninvited winner

The win has shocked too many. I was so sure that the curse would be broken by Emily Williams. She is after all the much better vocalist compared to Kate Derange(DeArugo). But no... ... Australians again picked the wrong contestant to win the competition. That is the cruel truth of Idol. They do not judge you on your talent; it is just another popularity contest.

Although Williams was runner-up last night, she can take some consolation from history.
The Idol runners-up from the first two series have eclipsed the success of those to whom they "lost".

Last month, Anthony Callea's song, The Prayer, was named the highest-selling Australian single ever at the ARIA awards.

A much need consolation that this would not be the last time we will see Emily Williams. We wish her well in her career.
